Graphics are all custom, and to avoid the tileset limitation in RMVX, he’s using parallaxes. He’s also an experienced spriter and artist (I highly recommend reading his Tileset Tutorial blog). You just need to make custom resources for it rather than use the RTP.įor example, check out Oceans Dream’s new RMVX project, Azure Ocean. Now with character sheets I resized and reformatted the tilesets from RPG Maker XP for use in MV a while ago (they can be found here).I still had the 32x32 pixel versions of the reformatted tiles, so I thought I might as well share them here. They can be used in VX Ace or in MV with a plugin to change the tile size. ![]() I have considered getting RMXP because it seems to have fewer tileset restrictions, but I still like RMVX. Eh, I was using the default RTP graphics for RMVX, and although that program has its flaws, I’ve seen people do some pretty interesting things with it by making their own custom graphics. I’ll post one of my more recent maps later today as an example of a more complete map, though I’m still not going to claim it’s “awesome.” Also, the commenter said RMXP is a better program. Im also looking for a nice animation to use in battle. Im looking for blood stains I can put on the ground (Id be OK with some for the wall, as well). Im not looking for bloody water or on buildings/already on objects (I found those for MV). There is no need for parallax mapping everything is in the correct tileset format. That was just a basic tutorial that someone on a forum asked me to do about a year ago (i.e. A smooth, painterly style like the one youll find in Pirate Ship, Casino, Valentines, Winter Wonderland, Sci Fi, Halloween, Evil Castle, Royal and Dungeon & Volcanoes tile packs. I found several for RPG VX Ace, but I need some for RPG Maker MV. Celianna’s Tileset is one of the most popular free (non-commercially) tilesets used in RPG Maker VX and VX Ace. I’ve actually been really busy with a lot of other stuff but am getting a few comments on here (surprisingly).Īnyway, one commenter didn’t like my mapping example (which he described entertainingly, despite him using a cliche, as “mapping fail”. I will totally admit that I did not create a complete map that I would use in a game, by any stretch of the imagination. Make sure you don't have any events set to autorun if they don't have any event commands.Wow, been a while since I posted anything. You don't need either autorun OR parallel process to animate either of these. If you have something like a flame that you want animated and the sprites are all in the same row, just check the Stop Animation box if the animation uses sprites in the same column, use a Custom Move Route under Autonomous Movement. Make sure you don't have any events set to autorun for the purpose of animating them. This could include autorun common events. If you use a different tile to erase on the top two layers, whatever their passability is set to is what will be used, even if there is no image on the tile.Ĭheck what events you have set to autorun, whose conditions are met. You should have one 'erase' tile only, and it should be set to O passability. Dopan because video vx(ace) to MV, didnt know the titleset was in 16x16, so easy +300 would do the ob in bilinair nicely (or sharpness) to test that out as outcome, other options make it blurry or make it ugly. Make sure you don't have any "blank" tiles that you've painted onto the second or third layer with an X for passability. Make sure the tiles you want to walk on ARE set to passable. If they won't, it's because there's an event set to autorun that isn't being turned off. Current visitors New profile posts Search profile posts. New posts New profile posts Latest activity. Parallax mapping is a solution but I didnt know how. If you use the arrow keys, will your character turn in different directions? If they will, the issue is your passability. Hello, I was wondering if using 16x16 tiles in RPG Maker VXAce is possible, since it uses 32x32 tiles. Faerypixel25, please avoid double posting, as it is against the forum rules.
